Description

Are you looking to incorporate math into your weather study? Here are 12 leveled math worksheets with a science reading and a riddle for your students to solve! Students read the text and the riddle. Then, they solve the 12 math problems on the worksheet. Next, they will use the code to solve the weather riddle. When they solve each riddle, your students will earn a badge to put on their weather lanyard. There is a certificate at the end you can give your students.

The 6 weather readings include:

  • What is weather?
  • What is the wind?
  • What are clouds made of?
  • What is precipitation?
  • What are tornadoes and hurricanes?
  • How are rainbows formed?

Each reading has a fun weather riddle to solve by answering the math problems. Each reading has 2 levels for you to choose from:

  • Using 9 to subtract 1 or 2-digit numbers
  • Addition facts to 10 or to 20 (including doubles, counting on, making a 10)
  • Equivalent number facts to 10 or to 20 (2+7=4+5)
  • 2 or 3-digit addition without regrouping
  • 2 or 3-digit expanded form addition
  • 2 or 3-digit subtraction without regrouping

All of the worksheets have keys included.

Students love the ability to earn a badge as they do each worksheet. There is a weather badge to print and make into a lanyard for students to glue their badges on as they earn them.

There's an optional cover page for you to use to make any worksheets into a packet for students to work on independently or in groups, or you can use this as an early finisher assignment! This is great for subs or for homework.

These were great to use along with out Weather Theme. The kids thought the riddles were funny too. Students remained engaged because they were looking forward to answering the riddle! Love that there are varying skill levels as well.
