Tape these prompts to the front of a spiral notebook or a composition notebook. Place class journals in a bin and allow students to select a journal of their choice during work on writing time, to work on for early finishers, or when conferencing with students. This form is editable so that teachers can modify prompts to meet the needs of each classroom. Teachers may also create notebooks as the year progress to increase student engagement based on specific things happening in the classroom.
