Description

Do you want your students to LOVE writing? A writing center is an essential element in any primary classroom. The printables in this resource will help you to create a beautiful writing center that your students will want to use, and that will help to model the important writing skills they are learning. It is also a great resource to help students practice these skills every day.

You can use this complete writing center display set to:

  • Create a bulletin board for your writing center
  • Create a trifold display for a smaller area or for small learning groups such as ELL and Resource.
  • Laminate the pieces to use as visuals when you are modelling the skills in your mini lessons.
  • Use as a literacy center.

Here are all the items that are included in this set:

Full size set of posters for:

  • Titles options: Writing Center, or Writing Center: I can write a...
  • Topic cards options: plain with just the word (ex.poem) and I can write a poem
    • topics: poem, list, journal, postcard, recipe, card, letter, research, note, story, letter
    • sample visuals for each one

  • Writing helpers title and the following printables:
    • popcorn words (sight words: words that are always popping up in our writing)
    • manuscript alphabet
    • writing checklist (2 versions, early and later primary)
    • calendar words (days of the week, months of the year, ordinal numbers)
    • special people words: aunt, cousin, teacher, friend, librarian etc.
    • Writing Has poster with 6 traits words as well as Writing Is which is more personalized for the child as writer.
    • space image to glue on popsicle sticks, use as a bookmark, enlarge and use as a modelling tool. (This is a neutral tool for all students to help them remember to use a space when they write.)

Full set of printables for each topic with variations so that you can differentiate.
