Description

Writing a properly formatted email is an important social and vocational skill for adolescents and young adults. This lesson is designed to teach learners how to correctly format their emails, what to include in their body text, and when it is appropriate to respond to emails, all while paying attention to important details like timeliness, punctuation and spelling. This lesson includes an activity where learners can look at sample emails, determine whether a response is needed and determine the appropriate time to respond.

This lesson is most applicable with older students (high school, college, adult day support classrooms), due to the complexity of the subject. I have used this lesson in the past with university students on the Autism Spectrum.
