Students often struggle explaining their thinking in math, specially when it's time to write down their explanations and steps. Through the years, I've given students these stems to use for their math written responses. These can also be used to encourage students to explain their steps verbally.

Included are classroom posters and mini cards that can be hole punched and placed onto a ring for differentiation if needed.
