Giving kids the ownership of knowing:
1) What stage they're in in the writing process
2) What tools they will need for that step
and making it FUN!!!!
Give students a paper car to decorate and allow them to stand up and track their own progress in their folder or a posted track on the classroom wall using a clothespin, magnet, or pockets.
