This is one of the most popular activities in our monthly centers sets. We've had many requests to list these on their own. Included are ALL the Silly Sentences sets from September to June, so you get 10 months worth. Please see the preview for a better idea of what's included.
Students will put the red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple cards in piles, in that order, in front of students. Let students pick one card from each pile and create silly sentences. Once they put one set of cards together to make a sentence, they must read it out loud. Students can create tons of different sentences and practice reading them! There are also mats where they read and write the sentences.
We have also included recording sheets – I start my students with larger lines at the start of the year and then gradually make the lines smaller to get their handwriting smaller.
Teachers have requested these in BW even though the color is needed. Several have printed these on the corresponding colored paper or card stock and some say they color in the trim themselves before they laminate. We wanted to give you the option. See the preview for how it can be done.
