Description

This lesson is a great way to introduce writing and solving two-step equations from real-world situations for 7th grade students! Students write two-step equations from real-world situations. Students solve two-step equations by applying the additive and multiplicative inverse. Students love how easy these slides and notes are to follow and understand. A fill in the blank notes sheet allows students to focus on instruction! Short and concise notes are clear, explicit, and useful for when students need a reference to refresh their memory. No prep!

This product includes:

  • Do Now (with answer key)
  • Slide Deck using Google Slides
    • Copy with Animations
    • Copy without Animations
  • Student Notes Sheet (aligns with slide deck, includes answer key)
  • Exit Ticket (printable with answer key and digital self-graded)
  • Homework (with answer key)

**Bundle with our differentiated practice sets for rigorous, bell-to-bell instruction!

This lesson aligns well with:

CCSS:

  • 7.EE.4: Use variables to represent quantities in a real world or mathematical problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve problems by reasoning about the quantities

NGLS:

  • NY-7.EE.4: Use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve problems by reasoning about the quantities.
