This set of 8th grade math (pre-algebra) binder notes provides guided notes on writing trend lines. Students are given one guided example with the step-by-step process, including identifying the y-intercept, choosing coordinates to calculate slope, then substituting the values into slope-intercept form. There are an additional 5 graphs (7 questions), asking students to write equations given the trend lines.

Note:

1) All trend lines are already drawn

2) The steps teach students to extend the trend line to identify the y-intercept. This may be extended to teach them how to calculate the y-intercept using the ordered pairs, but that is up to you.
