Students will have imagined they have served as first mate for a famous explorer. Now they want their own commission and must prove to the king or queen they are worthy of their support. Students must submit an Explorers Notebook based on their previous experiences to the king or queen before they can be considered to be their lead explorer. Notebook includes cover letter, a map, two journal entries, descriptions about areas explored and more. Scoring is provided. A good culminating activity!
