Study of Renaissance architecture , a conscious revival and development of ancient Greek and Roman architecture. Renaissance style places emphasis on symmetry, proportion, and geometry using columns and domes. Comparison of domes in the United States. Analysis of Filippo Brunelleschi and Florence Cathedral. Examples of modern architecture.

Students will make a daily schedule for one of the following feudal groups: Nobles, Knights, Guild Members, and Peasants/Serfs. Students will understand the roles people played in the sytem of feudalism.

Analysis of Inca artifact, Inca road system, terrace farming connecting with skyscraper farming, Inca rope bridge compared with modern suspension bridges, The discovery of Machu Picchu and how it was built. Fun for students!

Students will analyze and interpret primary sources related to the Crusades. Students will also understand the causes and effects of the Crusades. Students will write opinions and main ideas about the Crusades. In groups, students will write a group poem on a poster which will be decorated for a presentation.
