About the store
Jackie and Kylene have enjoyed many years developing curriculum to use in their own classrooms. Sharing these “creations” with other teachers led to being presenters at state and local conferences and teaching continuing education courses at the university level. We became full time Literacy Facilitators and enjoyed training and coaching teachers in grades K-6. A natural outcome of all this experience led to starting our business of
JK Curriculum Connection. We started selling our products at TeachersPayTeachers because teachers kept asking us where they could acquire our songs and literacy materials. We love to create poems, songs, beginning readers, and non-fiction packets and literacy activities that are fun and educational!

Teaching style
Our teaching style has always been student-based learning! We use lively activities (many involve songs) that incorporate all learning styles to get our students engaged! We love to involve parents in their children's education so we also develop activities that connect home and school!
Awards & shining teacher moments
Both Jackie & Kylene have been Teachers of the Year at their schools. Both have been involved in leadership in their district and helped win the California Distinguished School Award for each of their school sites! They each have received awards for serving as Mentor teachers.
My own education history
Jackie graduated with her B.A. from Western Michigan University & an M.A. in Special Education from Oakland University (MI) before heading out to California to continue her teaching career. She has taught in grades K-3, and Special education K-5.
Kylene graduated with a B.A. from Humboldt State and her M.A. from Chapman University. She was a reading specialist and both a preschool and multi-age teacher. She concluded her career as a Elementary School principal.
Additional biographical information
Both Jackie and Kylene share a love of family and animals! Jackie has 2 spoiled miniature Schnauzers, Wagner and Winnie! Kylene has a dog named Sammy, lots of cats, and a pasture full of llamas....oh, and a hard-working hubby named George! Both love to read and Jackie is an avid quilter and Kylene loves to garden!
