The Voice Levels Visual is simple, straightforward, and easy to implement. The muted colors on the visual coincide with the Mood Meter, another classroom management tool you can find on my TPT, and allow even the youngest of students to understand and use the visual. Teaching style

I am passionate about child-centered, interest-based, individualized education for my students. I integrate play, music, movement, and art into my lessons and daily activities. When it comes to behavior and classroom management, I incorporate aspects of gentle parenting and conscious discipline into my expectations, behavior strategies, and the environment of my classroom. I believe in visuals, choices, calming color palettes, the importance of play, and that all behavior is a form of communication. Most of all, I deeply and unconditionally love my students for the amazing, funny, tenderhearted, headstrong people that they are - and that is perhaps the best teaching strategy of all.

Additional biographical information

Hi, friend! My name is Olivia and I am a special education teacher at a rural elementary school nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains in Alabama. For me, teaching is a joy, and I look forward to "working" each day! When I'm not at school, I love to garden, bake, and go on walks with my husband. I love a strong cup of coffee, essential oils, and Ole Miss football. Thanks for stopping by!
