Experience

Over 15 years of experience teaching art grades Pre-K through 8 in urban public and private schools. Helped design developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum, and implemented arts integration. Taught as an artist in residence in public schools.

Teaching style

I create a comfortable and happy learning environment where all students can explore their ideas and connect with the creative process in a personal way. I believe in a whole child approach to education, which is always developmentally appropriate. My art lessons reinforce concepts learned in science, math, social studies, and language arts. My lessons teach art history, so students can make connections between their own ideas and those of established artists. This kind of artistic experience helps students find meaning and joy in their lives.
