I am currently a Transitional Kinder teacher who has taught from K-2nd grade. During the past five summers, I've attended the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University NYC and have been able to consult teachers in starting their Writer's and Reader's Workshop.

It has taken a couple of years, but I've implemented a complete Balanced Literacy Program with Interactive Writing/Reading, Shared Writing/Reading, Guided Reading, Book Clubs, Strategy Groups, and Words Their Way. It's amazing that my Transitional Kinder students are able to sustain 30 minutes of reading and 30 minutes of writing each and every day!!
