Before becoming a classroom teacher I spent seven years working as a second language tutor and reading tutor. I worked with students ranging from Kindergarten thru the 8th Grade.
As a Classroom Teacher I spent five years teaching Kindergarten, and most recently I have been teaching First Grade.

Experience
Before becoming a classroom teacher I spent seven years working as a second language tutor and reading tutor. I worked with students ranging from Kindergarten thru the 8th Grade.
As a Classroom Teacher I spent five years teaching Kindergarten, and most recently I have been teaching First Grade.
Teaching style
I love to create visuals and activities to allow optimal teaching opportunities while making students as independent as possible.
I use a lot of technology! I have made hundreds of PowerPoint presentations, many of which have been converted into flip-charts to be used interactively.
I have made hundreds of materials for use in Centers and/or Work Stations.
The more independent my students are, the more I am free to read with small groups and/or individuals, as well as offer extra tutoring to those that require more explanation of concepts.
