Tie this student template into your American Revolution unit. This template provides space for two different articles and an illustration. In my classroom, I have used this many different ways, for example, one article could be written about a battle and the other article could be an interview of a British or Patriot soldier. Also, we discussed propaganda and how it was used by both sides of the war when developing the illustration.
Thank you to Kerri's Art Corner for the wonderful American Re

I personally have used this every year in my classroom and the kids love the chance to get out of their seats, walk around the room, and work with a friend. To use, print out the posters and write fun math equations on sticky Post-it

This booklet will help guide student-led literature groups with thoughtful discussions and connections. Use this resource along with E.L Konigsburg’s “From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler”. It is best to have one book per student, but one book per group will work as well.
In my own classroom, I have used this in two ways. We read the story as a class and then the students move into their groups to begin their discussions while I ci

This activity creates a sweet gift for parents on Valentine’s Day. My students always love the opportunity for a photo shoot and find it special that they get to add their own little message for their mom/dad as well. Parents love to put these on their refrigerator! (This activity will take two days.) The packet includes two banner options (pennant triangle and blank) and a frame template.
Take advantage of this freebie and use it with your students for picture books or chapter books. Students will analyze the character's thoughts and feelings during three main parts of the story. They will then use this graphic organizer to see how the character may have changed throughout the story or remained the same.
You can use this whole group, small group, or individually.

*Updated for the 2016-2017 School Year
Start the beginning of the year off on the right foot with this cute All About Me pennant. Your students will love to create their own "Selfie" of themselves and they will make your room more inviting once they are on the walls or attached to string, hanging from the ceiling. I always save these until the end of the year and my students have a great time trying to guess who is who when I read them aloud. They can really see how much they have changed when
Numbers 1-36 I print and then cut these out for student mailboxes. They are the correct size to be used with Target's adhesive label pockets in the dollar spot. They may also simply be taped on. Credit: http://the3amteacher.blogspot.com/
The "My Reading Report" home activity is a great way to promote your student's reading life. This resource can be assigned along with other homework or given to individual students as extra practice, but I like to use it as a replacement for homework. There are many studies out there that state how homework is hurting our elementary-aged students, so I created this resource as a substitute for traditional work. The goal of this activity is to promote healthy reading habits without the threat of
