Experience

I have been a teacher since 2013. I started off my teaching career in kindergarten (for 2 years), then transitioned to teaching middle school math. It is my passion. I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math and math intervention, and also taught high school equivalent Algebra 1 and Geometry to accelerated 8th graders. I currently teach math 8 and math 8 intervention.

Teaching style

My students often leave my class saying things like "Math used to be my least favorite subject and now it is my favorite" because I try and make sure my passion for math rubs off on them through engaging resources and trying to explain the math conceptually with different solution strategies so students can feel empowered to choose a method that works best for them,

Awards & shining teacher moments

I graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was a member of all five honor national honor societies at SDSU.

My own education history

I have a BA in both Mathematics and Liberal Studies from San Diego State University, along with both my multiple subject and math single subject teaching credentials and a Masters of Arts in Teaching.
