Hi, I’m Ann-Maree (Miss Bizi)—creator of The Word Field and a teacher with over 20 years of experience in the education world.
I believe students thrive when writing feels purposeful, structured, and creative—not just another task to tick off. That’s why I design resources that encourage authentic writing, build spelling knowledge and promote thinking, depth, and voice.
I’ve taught composite and single-grade classes, worked as a Reading Recovery teacher, Kip McGrath tutor, and private tutor supporting students with dyslexia and diverse learning needs. I’ve even taught Conversational English to adult learners.
From classrooms to tutoring, from Reading Recovery to EAL support—I design deep, structured, authentic literacy resources that help students write boldly and think clearly.

Hi, I’m Ann-Maree (Miss Bizi)—creator of The Word Field and a teacher with over 20 years of experience in the education world.

Teaching style
My teaching style is creative and colorful/colourful—with resources designed to make learning deep, structured, and joyful. I believe literacy should be meaningful, not mechanical.

I’ve taught in big schools and small, in composite and single-grade classrooms, in both city and country settings, across state and Catholic sectors. I’ve also worked as a Reading Recovery teacher, a Kip McGrath tutor, and supported children with dyslexia and learning differences through private tutoring.
