I taught 1st grade for 5 years and after that I decided to take on a small challenge and teach 2nd grade. I have been teaching 2nd grade for three years now. This year my classroom is an inclusion class. I've had the opportunity to work with a fabulous SEN and Speech Therapist team. Together we have achieved greatness- even during the pandemic.

About the store

Experience

I taught 1st grade for 5 years and after that I decided to take on a small challenge and teach 2nd grade. I have been teaching 2nd grade for three years now. This year my classroom is an inclusion class. I've had the opportunity to work with a fabulous SEN and Speech Therapist team. Together we have achieved greatness- even during the pandemic.

Teaching style

I believe in- learning through play. Over the past years I have tried to be as creative as possible to make learning fun and engaging. I want my students to take ownership of their own learning, and I become a facilitator. In my class students have a voice and a choice. When I plan a lesson I get them involved in the process. Together we think about the who, the what, the how. By doing so my students feel empowered and included.

Additional biographical information

I'm currently living the best life on a small island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. I have been a teacher in Mauritius for the past 8 years. During my time here I have worked at two different international schools.
