This Making Ten game is a fun and engaging way to practice with combinations to make ten! Students need two playing pieces (I just used red and yellow counting chips), a number cube, and the game board. Students take turns rolling the number cube and moving that many spaces on the board. They look at the number representation they landed on and tell how many more to make 10. You can have students record the equation on a dry erase board. This is a great game for a math station.
