TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After 16 years teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in high-poverty Title I schools in Washington state, my family relocated to Maryland to start a new adventure! I am currently teaching 4th grade and "learning the ropes" in a new state and school!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My passion is empowering students to set goals, reach for them, and amaze themselves by doing more than they ever thought possible. I am a bit cluttered, but love organization. In my classroom there are high expectations and flexibility, structure and accountability ... but we love to have fun at the same time! Through humor and real conversations, we learn together not just academics, but how to be the best version of ourselves.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

My education includes an MAT from Concordia University, a BA from Southern Oregon University, and my Professional Certification through Seattle Pacific University. Next stop, National Boards!!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My husband, newborn, three year old son, and teenage daughter keep me on my toes! Finding the balance between "teacher life" and "mommy/wife life" is often tricky territory to navigate!! I also enjoy anything involving crafts, art projects, reading, and music to help me relax in those stolen moments by myself.
