Intro To Scratch: 7 Block Partner Coding Challenge (great for Hour of Code!)
I use this as the very first unit to introduce Scratch coding basics to my students. It is an open-ended, yet guided, 1-2 day lesson. Students will explore and learn how to use 7 different code blocks. This is designed for students to do "pair programming" with a partner. They will help each other learn, explore, code, and "debug" as they go along. This also could be used as a great "hour of code" activity. Numeracy Poster Project: Communicate an Interesting Fact on Length
This handout with rubric guides students in creating a poster using math conversion facts. Students can showcase their unique interests by choosing a topic of choice. This poster project handout details what is required to visually represent a conversion of one length to another. Students are challenged to represent measured values and conversion facts as fractions, and cross-cancel units. Students can evaluate themselves and others using the rubric.

This product includes a slide for each of the 12 days that can be colored with the cost for one of each item. The goal of the project is for students to figure out how much each day cost, and then come together to add up how much money the singer's true love spent in total.
