Bees and Hives- art project
Third graders traced hexagon stencils to form a bee hive, used markers and water to show warm, cool, or neutral colors, and clay and other mixed-media items to form a bee. All were very successful! Students also reviewed parallel lines! Notes available in the slides.

Welcome to Geometry City!
This is a fun project I used around state testing time to help students review shapes and angles (and social studies-bonus!). Students worked in pairs to create a map of a town using specific terms that I picked out. They also had to write a key to show that they understood where they used parallel lines, certain shapes, etc. It was fun and creative- my favorite! :)

A fun Authentic Assessment!! I made this for my 5th grade math student to be given as a pre-assessment and post-assessment for 2-D shapes and parallel/perpendicular lines.
