Coding Algorithms Unplugged Mazes

This FREEBIE allows students to practice their unplugged directional coding skills. How will you get the monster to his home? These algorithm mazes are an unplugged way for students to work through the logical sequence of coding an algorithm, which is just a set of instructions or directions to follow.  These are best done in pairs. Student #1 is the computer programmer and creates the algorithm for student #2 , who is the computer robot, to complete. Student #2 must follow the algorithm exactly

Give your kids creative computing confidence and help them develop fluency in mental math using this combined Computing/Math unit. Students will choose an area of mental math that they need more practice in and design a game using Scratch to help them practice it. In the process, they'll learn about key principles of computer science like algorithms, debugging, sequence, selection and repetition. When they share their work at the end of the unit, the whole class will be able to use their game a

Integrating digital technologies and Art, this resource teaches concepts of coding, binary digits and pixel art. Students decode the numbers to create animal themed pixel images. They develop understanding of binary by having each pixel programmed as being black or white (on or off). Three difficulty levels for different abilities with the chance to design, create and encode their own animal art for others to decode too! Computational thinking coverage includes: algorithmsdebuggingsequential ins
