Think Like a Detective (PETS thinking skills)
This thinking activity was created to go along with Dudley the Detective in the PETS curriculum. In the curriculum students learn how to use deductive reasoning to collect clues to find the one right answer to a problem. When students "think like a detective", they are challenged to look at 4 objects and decide which one does not belong. They must be prepared to explain their answer as well. Dichotomous Key Power Point Game
This game is an original Power Point using the Wacky People from the website linked on the first slide. You will need to print the poster with the pictures in order to complete the game. I used a poster-making machine rather than making individual copies for students. We put sticky notes over the pictures as we identified each creature. It is so fun and addicting. If you like this one, I made several more. It's really a fun game and a great way to teach students about dichotomous keys. I
