Pi Day Coloring Activity: Pi Skyline. Create your own round version of Pi Cityscape to make a mural, door decoration, or bulletin board display. Let your students express themselves using these hands-on Math & Art resources during the exploration of Pi.Write the next digits of Pi in the sections outside the circle. Geotown Project - geometry & map skills with distance learning option
The "Geotown" project encourages students to use their knowledge of 1-D and 2-D figures to create a map of a fictional town. I assign the project after we've covered our G.1.1 standard, and they work independently on it until the due date. Upon completion of their map, I have them trade maps with a partner, and they use a rubric to check each other's map (giving them more practice identifying 1-D and 2-D figures!). 3-Dimensional Shapes Project
This is a great 3-dimensional math robot project for your students to work on at home. It comes with a project description letter that both the student and parent have to sign off on, rubric, sample test, and real test.

Halloween Jack o' Lantern Art
This fun, hands-on project demonstrates positive and negative space art and symmetry. Symmetry is when two halves of an object or image have a balanced similarity. One half of the image is the mirror image of the other half. The human face is an example of symmetry: each half has an eye, ½ of a nose and ½ of a mouth. This project was so popular it had to be repeated every year in my 6-9 Montessori classroom!

This is the last part of the 3 part series.
It is the creative process - alternating between inductive and deductive spatial reasoning. It is in rectilinear development, but it will afford students the ability to mentally view in all three dimensions - mentally.
These look difficult...and some are. However, with small amounts of practice, students adapt and excel. These exercises are really handy for high academic students in need of challenging individual projects - and GATE and STEM.
