All About That Base Word- A Spelling Parody for Syllable Juncture spellers
It's all about that base word! This song reviews that when you want to add a suffix (ed/ing) to a base word (run -> running) there are rules about what to do before adding it. Do I double the letter? Do I drop an E? Do I do nothing? This song teaches it all. It is a "parody" of course of Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" song, but the lyrics have been changed to teach spelling. Viva La Egypt - An educational parody for study/review of Ancient Egypt
I wrote this for 2nd graders who were studying Ancient Egypt. Viva La Vida, by Coldplay, was a popular song at the time and I was singing it one day and started changing the words to fit what we were learning. It correlates with 2nd grade Virginia SOL's, but would be a good beginning study for any primary aged student studying the basics of Ancient Egypt. The Letter Aa Handwriting Flipchart for Promethean Board
This flipchart allows students to practice handwriting the upper and lower case letter A on the Promethean Activ Board in the classroom.
