This project was designed as a year-long project, each part to be handed in at the end of a semester. Many student dislike note-taking and hate math, therefore, don't do the work. Mathematics Research Project
This is a great end of year research project for any math course at a multitude of grade levels! From start to end of presentations, this project took me two weeks to complete - I give specific dates for each goal and give a grade for completion of each goal. The points I gave are listed on the information sheet. I created this in Word and it can be edited to fit your classroom and your needs. Students are asked to research a famous mathematician, write a research paper and give a presentation.

The document includes instructions for a video project. Each individual makes a video for each topic (this document discusses Algebra II and it's topics), and all videos will be put in a folder on YouTube. All the videos will cover all topics of a class. The video must include definitions, examples, and problems for other students to do. There is also a rubric for students to understand their expectations, and for teachers to grade.
