In Doggy Dilemma, students are finally allowed to get a dog! They can choose from three dogs and then must create a dog pen for the backyard. They will calculate the area and perimeter as well as the cost of the project.

Coin Values: Counting by Sight and Touch
This is a fun project for helping students learn the value of coins. My students enjoyed sliding their fingers from the coin to the end of the ribbon or string while counting the number of attachments to the coin which in turn, helped them learn the value of different coins. Other variations such as tracing each line with finger paint or placing bead on the end of each string can also be fun.
