Integer card game
This game takes the card game WAR and changes the rules a bit so that students are doing integer addition and multiplication to win a pair. It is good for practice at the end of the unit or as a replacement for worksheet practice. I have also used this right after introducing integer multiplication so that the students make self discoveries about the "odds" of a result being positive or negative.

Adding Integers-Hot air balloon model
This hands on model helps students see what is happening when they add positive and negative integers using hot air balloons, weights, and flames. After exploring this concept it leads them to recognizing patterns and creating rules for adding integers. This model can also be adapted to include subtraction of integers.
