I used this during each season with both Special Education students as well as Kindergarten students. They were asked to describe each pictured item and then check the box under which sense would be used. The senses were reviewed in a fun way every season without drilling and it allowed the students to expand their vocabulary as well.

Observing Sunflowers - Scientific Method

Using a sunflower, students will write observations they make on the sunflower. This is to help practice observation skills in the scientific method. Give out one sunflower to a pair or group of students and have them observe the sunflower using their 5 senses. They will write down those observations in the box asking for the 5 senses. Have students write down any additional questions about sunflowers they have as well. In the last box, have them make a list of all the possible measurable things
