Projects to do for a study of the Pacific States
Here is a list of possible projects that students can make or research in a study of the Pacific States. Students choose one based on what they feel are their strengths. Students can make models, dioramas, timelines, write stories, create graphs, etc. I usually give them one month to complete as we study a different region every month. States include California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. Projects are offered for all types of learners and all grade levels. I have a list of projects

Wax Museum Parts for Ancient Civilizations Bilingual Spanish and English
My students helped write these parts in Spanish and in English since I work in a Gifted/Talented Dual Immersion classroom. They are meant to be used in a wax museum where the students memorize their parts, dress in a costume, and recite the parts to visitors. A description of how to operate a wax museum is also included. Only 20 parts are included, but you could easily add a few more or double up on some parts.

Ancient Civilizations Student Requirement Page
A project for students to create their own civilization using the eight features of a civilization. This activity is a great opportunity for students to learn about what makes civilizations, rise, progress, flourish, and fail. It can be used at the end of a unit or as an introduction to the year's studies. I'd suggest giving the students at least two weeks to work independently or with a partner on the project. It also makes a great extension activity.
