This rubric is aligned with the Louisiana State Standards Claim and Content rubrics for grading extended responses. The rubric has a few added features such as grammar and can be edited if purchased. Current Event Assignment and Rubric
An effective way to get students involved with what is going on in the world. The Current Event form that students will fill out includes not only a summary, but also vocabulary. The Current Event rubric is easy for teachers to score with and students to understand. I do this every Friday with my students. They expect to share them with the class. It is an effective reading and writing tool as well. Both of these forms can be modified for any grade level.

This is a rubric for current events or articles read for class. Great for science or social studies. Its follows a who, what, when, where, why and how format and then the students thoughts on the subject. It is based on 20 points and the percentages for all points are included.

Keyboarding Timed Writing Rubric
I use this for my 7th grade Keyboarding class. Since it is a semester class, I use 30 words a minute for the top goal the first nine weeks I have them, and 40 words a minute the second nine weeks I have them. I add their converted WPM score to the actual Accuracy % and divide by 2 to get the grade I record. This is an editable document.

Focus Country Brochure Rubric
This is a rubric for a focus country project. The students will choose a country and then create a brochure about the country. They are required to include certain aspects of that country. They will present their brochure to the class to teach their classmates about that country. My sixth graders really enjoyed doing this and they learned a lot!

COMMON CORE ELA CLOSE READ RUBRIC
This rubric is not what I choose to have buyers use to assess my work. It is simply offered to help with the grading of close read activities. They are my true product (as well as the video guides and Powerpoints :).
This rubric is simple and direct. There are six on a page for ease of cutting and attaching as well as reduction in paper use. I have found that when I grade the close reads it is much easier if I've attached, or had kids attach, this rubric.
