The age-old question of teachers everywhere: HOW DO I MOTIVATE MY STUDENTS?
The answer? DATA! Accountability. If my students see their grade and progress (or regress in some cases?) they are motivated to do something. Center Work Checklist
I was finding that my students were unorganized and I was stuck sorting through no name papers or getting incomplete center work. I came up with the idea of creating a checklist that contains everything the students need for the entire week. Their packet contains any homework they have and a list of directions. This is a major time saver and answers so many questions. :) Feel free to obviously edit it for your needs.

Personal Learning Log
This is my classroom's personal learning log. I have my students fill these out in the same way you would use "Exit Tickets" at the end of the class time. I also randomly check them for an easy homework grade.
Having students truly reflect on their learning and able to check back and see exactly where a student in my class starts to get lost, is a valuable tool to redirect and reteach.

I arrange them in my Master Binder with each class having a section for Attendance, Homework, and Grades.
