SUPER FUN sink or float activity guides. Lesson plan includes a prediction worksheet and a sorting guide. Depending on the age range, students can make their own predictions on the prediction worksheet or teachers can help students mark their predictions about objects before experimenting. The sorting guide is great for students to sort objects based on if they floated or they sunk.

Sorting States of Matter

It is a sorting science activity with three mats, one for each state of matter, and 15 pictures for each. The mats need to be printed in cardstock and laminated. Laminate and cut the pictures individually and put them in an envelope. Students will sort the pictures putting them in the correct mat. STEM-Sensational Stations Experiment

Inquiry based, STEM exploration experiment for young students who are using their “senses” as scientists and explorers. This lesson and activity allow students to move around to 3 different stations while practicing their sense of smell, touch, and sound. There is a list of materials that you will need in this document, along with a 5-step lesson with prompting questions for the students. I also have an exit slip for the students to complete at the end of the exploration. Happy experimenting! N

I used this during each season with both Special Education students as well as Kindergarten students. They were asked to describe each pictured item and then check the box under which sense would be used. The senses were reviewed in a fun way every season without drilling and it allowed the students to expand their vocabulary as well.
