I introduce Mindful Movements as a creative form of incorporating cardio into my yoga curriculum AND, fulfilling several of the SHAPE America National Standards. Mindful Movements are positive, inspirational songs set to yoga, functional strength, dance movements and a little acting improv;) We can use the music, lyrics, and meaning of songs as a bridge for SEL learning on topics like social justice, bullying, inequalities, empowerment, inspiration, team building, etc. etc. Using the music as
