Pre-Algebra Project (Pickleball Club Membership Comparison) with answers!
The Pickleball Club Membership Option comparison project has students comparing four (4) membership options and determining which one is the most financially advantageous in different quantity of court rentals (2 hrs a week vs 3 hours a week, etc). The math topics required include arithmetic with decimals and finding sales tax. It can be used in a Pre-Algebra class or as a back to school project for Algebra 1. Calculating Sales Tax by Creating a Flyer
This lesson contains assignments on what sales tax are and how the government uses our tax money. It demonstrates how to calculate sales tax and discounts. After instruction from the teacher, it uses a creative approach by allowing the students to create and design a sales flyer with discounts to help reinforce math skills needed in the the real world.
