About the store
I have been a teacher for 16 years and taught as a virtual math teacher for 6 of those years. I have written my own curriculum, as well as worked with many different learning management systems. I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a master's in Curriculum and Instruction, a middle school math endorsement, and an ESOL endorsement.
I am highly driven, creative and motivated to make learning fun for all students.
For the last school year, I have been working as a technology instructional coach through a grant called Verizon Innovative Learning Schools. It has been great helping teachers understand how to bring purposeful technology into the classrooms.

This is a real world math application packet designed to get kids interested in learning math. Students will be designing their own carnival; they will make a game booth, ticket stand, concession stand, and rides and complete math-based activities for each aspect. This is an editable powerpoint, so feel free to add to or manipulate it so it fits your grade level better. This would be a great review before assessments!

Penny Nickel Top it is a game made up by the Everyday Mathematic Series. I made these cards to go with it to play in my classroom, and I also have a set at home for my kids. Print these cards out on cardstock, cut apart, and play like war. The partner with the highest coin value wins the card.

Students will review what they learned about markdowns, markups, discounts, and tax by shopping for the holidays. Students will complete a google document that compiles their shopping and math work. Included you will find examples on how to work through the math components, safe shopping sites, directions on how to add slides, and a chart to keep track of buying as students proceed through their work.

Number Theory Speed Dating
When teaching number theory, I wanted my students to get up and moving. I have them go through questions in a "Speed-Dating" manner. Students sit across from another student in 2 rows. They each have a recording sheet on a clipboard. The recording sheet does not contain questions so students cannot just sit quietly and work ahead. M&M mis-math
The M&M company claims to place the same percentage of each color in every bag. Students use fun size bags of M&Ms to prove the company wrong.
At the end of the unit, the teacher should have all students add up their data to see if when added and reconfigured, their percentages are closer to M&M's claims.

Have students find lines based on slope-intercept form, and standard form. Students will find slopes, y-intercepts, and be able to graph lines on graph paper.

The M&M company claims that each bag should have the same percentage of particular colors. Using a bag of fun sized m&ms, students will prove them wrong.
After the individual worksheet, have the class combine their data, reconfigure percentages, and see if that is closer to the company's claims.
