Million Dollar Math Project & Rubric
This project is an at home project where students are being asked to spend $1,000,000. The students can spend the money on whatever they like, but there are certain rules and restrictions to their spending. The students must also show all of their subtraction work (including regrouping) for every item they purchase. Also included is a rubric for grading the project. Thank you for taking the time to look at my item and help me not default on my student loans...every penny counts : )

Each color coded set of Order of Operations numbers go together. I put them each in a different envelope with the answer on the front. Students must piece together the numbers, exponents, parentheses, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division signs to create the answer you are looking for. This is a cumulative project which is just a rubric because the end product should be something the students create independently or in groups. Concepts included are real world usage, prime factorization, multiples, factors, creation of expressions and equations using the chosen number, and historical dates including the number.
