Experience

I have been teaching for over 40years. I have taught through almost every textbook written including Saxon, Connected Math, Cognitive Tutor, Accelerated Math, and UCSMP curriculum. I have applied my experiences and learned to transfer a wealth of ideas into a successful history of student performance through data driven lesson planning.

Teaching style

Have you ever heard those daunting words from a student: "You're Doing it Wrong!"? Does the mere thought of hearing this from a student, colleague, or parent unsettle you? If so, let me be upfront—this curriculum may not be for you. But what if that phrase could morph into something empowering, like your students declaring, "I've Never Been this Good at Math Before!"? If you're eager for a game-changing approach, then keep reading. These products go beyond mere engagement and real-world application—they redefine how you teach. It's this precise focus on teaching methodology that will revolutionize your students' outcomes by the end of the year. Dive in and unleash the transformative impact you can have on your students' success.

My own education history

Although I hold a Master’s degree, I consider my 40 years of teaching experience in both math and computer science across all grade levels to be the true foundation of my educational background. My experience in Career and Technology Education directly applies to math curriculum through the use of real-world case studies that make concepts relevant and meaningful. I’ve taught math from grades 4–12, including special education, which gives me a deep understanding of how students learn through the chain of math development—or sometimes, more accurately, when that chain breaks. My teaching approach is based on ITIP (Instructional Theory into Practice), and my unique background in teaching and coaching has led to strong, consistent success on high-stakes tests. I design lessons and curriculum that are clear, engaging, and built to develop lasting mastery and confidence.
