They have to color in a 10x10 grid to display their park, convert all of the numbers between fractions, decimals, and percents, and they must write a letter to argue why their park should be picked.

This is a project that I use at the end of the year to practice finding the percent of a quantity which is a 6th grade common core standard. I give the students imaginary coupons to use that are not attached to this document. This graphic organizer reinforces how to find sale prices and prices after taxes.

This is a Spreadsheet for showing students where their money goes after taxes and bills. The student picks a reasonable career and inputs the gross salary income and can see where their money goes toward. The lesson is great to show percents and talk about taxes. Students really liked the exercise and had fun seeing if their job would provide what they thought it would.
