I began as a traditional teacher five years ago. Whole group focus lessons, complete a worksheet, take a test.
Throughout the years I have transformed into more inquiry based learning where students have more responsibility to figure out the process on their own.
Recently I have been trained as a secondary Montessori teacher and try to implement as many practices as possible within my classroom and daily lessons.
During year six my students are advocates for their own learning. They pace themselves, are aware of weekly deadlines and have the opportunity to personalized their learning at the speed and style needed.
