Students are assigned a starting population of frogs from one of 11 different ponds in the Central Florida area. They track the health of their population over a 10-year simulated timespan (10 rolls of the dice). Each time they roll, something happens to their frogs that year that impacts the population. A simulation game to recreate the growth of a city. The game gives students a one minute timer to add a list of things to a blank map for every 10 year period of growth beginning in 1843 and ending in 2003. The simulation is meant to be frustrating and difficult so that students really get an idea of the many issues that can arise when a city develops quickly. The city used in this powerpoint is Portland, Oregon, but you could easily change the city to be the one in which you live or another cit
