Exploring Interest
Even when students can correctly calculate interest, I find they often don't quite understand what it is or how it is used in real life. This webquest has students investigate interest rates for different scenarios they will encounter in the future (car loans/student loans/savings accounts/etc.).
I use this to introduce the concept of interest and pair it with the BrainPop credit card and interest videos, quizzes, and activities using my school's subscription.

Webquest - Quest For Knowledge - Cara Carvaholic - Using Google Earth & Geometry
This is a "Quest For Knowledge" (webquest) designed for students in their first semester of Geometry although it could be adapted to honors middle school students. The quest involves using eXcel and some specific websites to track information about a ski resort (selected by the teacher). The main part of the quest involves using a trail map of the selected ski resort and Google Earth to measure actual elevations and distances. This is a "Quest For Knowledge" (webquest) designed for students in their second semester of Algebra but could also be used by Algebra 2 students.
