This simple activity helps students learn how precision and accuracy are used in science with significant figures. It also helps students learn a little dimensional analysis and percent error along the way (which is a nice bonus). All you need is a ruler with centimeters and a 3x5 index card. I use this activity as a lead in to my HS Chemistry Chapter 3 Unit on Sig Fig's but it would work with any science class covering precision and accuracy.

Also included is a lab equipment quiz and a powerpoint review to use with your students. I usually use the cards in this way: Place lab equipment around the room and put the matching card face down.
