Polynomial Functions Review Game

Created by
Yatrik Patel
This PowerPoint Presentation and handout contains a few questions to help quickly review polynomial functions on items like increasing/decreasing intervals, finding maximum and minimum, domain, range, x and y-intercepts, and questions on the end behavior of a function. It only covers cubic and quartic polynomial functions only. This would work best if you allow students to try the questions (handouts) first, and after they have finished the handout, allow them to check their answers by going thr

Polynomial Function Project - Roller Coaster

Created by
Algomath
In this project, students learn how to use polynomial function to model roller coaster rides. In this first part, they are given some polynomial functions to find the relative maximum/minimum, increasing/decreasing intervals, x- and y-intercepts, etc. They will explore the average rate of change. In the second part of the project, students are asked design their own roller coaster given some basic criteria. Students should use graphing devices/computer applications to complete this project.

This item is a functions review activity to be used at the end of a functions unit in Algebra 2. Students look at graphs and try to match the different characteristics to each graph. Some graphs may look different but may have some of the same characteristics, which makes this activity challenging. The characteristics included are: domain, range, x and y intercepts, increasing and decreasing intervals, end behavior, and horizontal and vertical asymptotes. I like to get my students out of the

Relations & Functions - Quiz or an exit ticket!!!

This is a word document file which has two forms of assessments which could be treated as a quiz or as an exit ticket. In this assessment, students will be asked to determine whether a given relation (ordered pair, venn diagram, or graph) is a function. The student will also be asked to determine if the relation is a 1-1 function as well. Answer Key is included in this assessment. If not used as a short quiz, using this assessment as an exit ticket will aid in a better evaluation of the stud
