Geometry Word Search--FREEBIE! Math Vocabulary Activity

I created this geometry word search as a fun activity for my students to do one day for morning work. They love word searches, and we are about to begin our Geometry unit. This activity is great for introducing vocabulary terms, such as the names of the 3-D shapes, symmetry, vertices, faces, edges, etc. This could also be used for a filler activity or for something to do when they finish a quiz or test. Enjoy! Check out my other geometry study guides and practice packs!

Surface Area

This activity guides the learner in finding the surface area of a 3-D object (cube). TLW classifies the 3-D object by labeling its edges, faces, and vertices. Then, given dimensions and a visual representation of the net of a cube, TLW calculate the area of each face and sum the total for the cube's surface area. I use this resource as an interactive math journal activity for my alternate middle school math class, but it can be used as differentiated notes, quiz, or for reinforcement or review.
