FREE Vocabulary Log

This log has room for students to keep track of 15 vocabulary words. They write the word and definition, but also use the word correctly in a sentence and draw a picture in the box. My students' scores on vocab quizzes have increased dramatically since using this log instead of the usual word/definition logs. Can be used for any set of words, regardless of subject.

All About Art

This is the second page of the Egyptian Scarab Beetle project- the beetle looks great on it's own, but this really takes it to the next level! All you need is something to color with, scissors and glue sticks (or tape). Excellent lesson for substitutes too! I have used this with grades 2- 5th and got both a good reception and a good result (adjusting your standards of craftsmanship of course). Wonderful for increasing those scissor skills with younger kids.

If you've already introduced the concepts to them, it could be used as an assessment of their understanding. It could also be an easy sub activity! After my students completed the gradients side, we discussed how value was added in the different methods of shading (pushing harder with pencil, v
