This elapsed time quiz assesses the 3 types of elapsed time questions- unknown start, unknown elapsed, and unknown end times. Students are expected to determine the two given times, note them in the appropriate areas, and fill them in on the number line in order to solve for the unknown time. Using a number line to solve elapsed time problems can help students better understand the abstract idea of time.

This activity guides the learner in finding the surface area of a 3-D object (cube). TLW classifies the 3-D object by labeling its edges, faces, and vertices. Then, given dimensions and a visual representation of the net of a cube, TLW calculate the area of each face and sum the total for the cube's surface area. I use this resource as an interactive math journal activity for my alternate middle school math class, but it can be used as differentiated notes, quiz, or for reinforcement or review.
